These days everyone has a camera with them – either inside their cell phone or a small point and shoot. Some have said that with new technology anyone can take a picture equal to the professionals. Without getting into a debate about hardware and skill I will make this statement:

The difference between a photograph and a snapshot is the passion of the art.

It is the passion of the art that makes me wake up at 1:00am to drive across Oregon to catch the sun rising over the Painted Hills.

It is the passion of the art that makes me hike around a lake in a downpour to get “the shot”.

It is the passion of the art that pushes me to expand my skill so that when I capture "the moment" it is perfect and timeless.

Many people hate getting their picture taken because "it is a hassle" or "they feel uncomfortable" - I try to break those ideas of having your picture taken. I want your session to be so fun and natural that you forget that I am there.
